"Just a road trippin on a long weekend..."
I have not necessarily been blogging a lot lately, but after working everyday for 10 hours, blogging is not the top priority on my list. However, I finally took a weekend for myself and went and saw one of my best friends and in the great town of Crowell. That's right, I went and saw Emily! The second that I got off of work on Saturday, I high-tailed it West. Two hours and 45 min later, I arrived in the raging metropolis. After driving around town trying to find enough phone signal to call Emily to get directions to her house, I finally got a hold of her and found out that I was only about a block away! Regardless of having absolutely NO phone signal for the whole weekend, I had an absolute blast! I got to go to church with her and have lunch with her whole family. Then we got to head about 45 min south and spend the day in Munday at Kobie's house. On the way home, I had to make a pitstop and see one of my other good friends, Whitney in Jacksboro! Overall, I had a fantastic weekend with some fantastic people. All of the people that I met were more than welcoming and did I mention they actually knew where Krum was!!! It was like Heaven on Earth, no one ever knows where I live! Since I have made it home we are going to celebrate Memorial day with some good ole Ribeye steaks and squash cooked out on the fire pit with some of our good friends. Even one from Tech! We might all branch out to Winstar tonight too!! Nothing is better than celebrating Memorial day with your friends. After all, without all of soldiers that fight for us we would not be able to do so.

"Curiosity Creates the Road to Follow"
"What if?", that is the question that I am constantly asking myself. For example: What if someone didn't mix peanut butter and jelly, what tasty sweet sandwich would we eat? What if my mom and dad never met, would I even be alive? What if Texas was still part of Mexico, would I be mexican? What if cell phones were to become little robots like they do on Transformers? Random questions like these fuel my brain. This "curiosity creates the road to follow". If you think about it, it is questions like these that keep you going. Well okay, maybe not as weird ones as these, but what about questions about your future? Does striving for answers not create the path that you follow each day. What if I wake up extremely early every morning to go to class so that I can earn a degree? What if I save this dollar here and this penny here, will I become a millionaire? Naturally, you ask yourselves these question without even knowing it. If I had never asked myself what if I go to Texas Tech, I would never be here. Commonly, I do contemplate the "what if's"of the alternatives just to ensure myself that I made the best decision. When you think about technology, what if Benjamin Franklin did not fly that kite in the sky that led to the discovery of electricity? Would we all be huddled around a fire in the winter and thrive off of it's heat to stay alive? What if the television was never invented? How would we watch live coverage of breaking news or our favorite sports team dunking it at the final buzzer? Think about travel. What if the automobile was never invented, or if the Wright brother's had never invented the airplane? Would we still be a foot? What if a in a life or death moment you had to pray that the defibrillator being used on your beloved 80 year old grandfather would even work? Essentially, the point that I am trying to make is that without some form of curiosity in everyone the world would come to a screeching halt. Curiosity is one of the key ingredients that drives the world around.

"Sun is shining, the weather is sweet, make you want to move your dancing feet."
This might be a little belated but with everything going on my blog was put on hold for a little bit. Now that finals are over, I am finally settled in back at home, my first day back at work is over, and I have almost seen everyone, I can get back to blogging occasionally. Oh did I mention that IT'S SUMMER!!!! My favorite time of the year has finally arrived! Even though I am taking a summer class, the stress of all of my school work wont be weighing me down. Also, I am back to working so I can make some money!! Oh yes it is a wonderful time of the year. This morning Dad and I finished up this weekend's work by planting a few trees and some new plants in the backyard. Now for the next few weekends: Re-do the backyard! We are going to tear out all of the pre-existing stuff and completely re-do it for a good fresh start. We are even going to be adding a outdoor fireplace! I can't wait! No more smoke filling up the cabana from the fire pit! (Which we will be keeping!) Also, Dad clued me into some pretty awesome news yesterday, Shelby and I will be getting a new dog! Unfortunately, he/she won't be born until December. Our neighbor who has won some pretty amazing awards, such as Madison Square Garden with his dogs, is going to be giving us pick of the litter when he has some more pups born! I can't wait! However, no one will be replacing my little Toedo! Another great thing about this summer is being able to see our dogs for longer than a couple of days. No more "hi and bye", we will be here long enough to get to enjoy some stuff! I have got to spend quite a bit of time with my badass little cousin Daniel. I love that little kid to death and getting to see him more often warms my heart! This afternoon he was at my Nana and Papa's and I got to hang out with him in the backyard for a little bit! Even though being home is awesome and all, I already miss Lubbock! I really miss all of the people there a LOT! I can't wait to see everyone again! I can't wait for our vacation to Gulf Shores coming up and I can't wait to see what all summer has in store for me!

Oh The Things That I Have Learned
So here we are, I made it through my first year of college!! Those are words that I know at points in my life I didn't know if I would ever say. There were definitely times that my parents were in doubt if that could ever have been said. Regardless of all of that, I DID IT!!! Now the question is, how many more years are we looking at? Since this year flew by so fast, I am more than certain that this whole college thing is going to fly by. Therefore, I have developed the perfect plan. Since I absolutely love college and my parents want me to get a good amount of school, I will stay here for a while. Unlike most people that stay in college forever because they can't pass, I will stay in school for quite some time getting a large amount of education. As of right now my goal is to get two degrees, ag economics and ag business with a minor in ag communications. When I get done will all of that in three years I think it will be time for some good ole' grad school. My goal in life is to get my MBA. How cool would that be? (Yes, my inner nerd is coming out big time!) I would nearly be guaranteed a good job then. I have just about come to the conclusion that I am just plain afraid of growing up. Why get into such a hurry to be old? Someday I do want to settle down and have a good job and a family, however I don't want that day to come too soon. There are so many people just ready to graduate and start their family. I honor them. While it would be great to know where life is taking me, I am going to make this one long road trip and we all know that "grown-up" is not exactly a term used to describe me. This first year has taught me a lot. It has not just taught me a lot through classes, it has taught me a lot about myself and life in general. In fact I think that I'm going to make a list about just how much I have learned. Here it is:
- You can fit a LOT of stuff into a tiny space, just take my dorm room for example.
- Lubbock water is not drinkable.
- You absolutely do NOT put on any form of lip gloss before walking outside.
- I have learned what wind is, I just thought that I knew.
- My hair actually does do better in a humid climate.
- Socks are not made to match. It's more fun to wear 2 different colored ones.
- Mijo can make a damn good salad.
- Apples to Apples was made to be played at Bahama Bucks.
- You can't make a left turn out of CVS on 19th (Emily) ;)
- There is nothing more comfortable than jeans and your favorite Tech shirt.
- Rules were made to be broken.
- Bingo is actually really fun, even if you don't win big.
- Community bathrooms are terrible, but you don't have to clean them!
- Only the weak attend Baylor.
- Chicken Express sweet tea was made for getting out of the dorms for a little bit. (Tiffany)
- You can find an old test for nearly any class.
- 8 am is a lot earlier than it was last year.
- Liquor before beer, your in the clear.
- Laundry really is not fun. Now I really know why Mom always made us do it.
- Apple was a genius when they programmed the iPhone to where you can have 14 alarms set.
- Money really doesn't grow on trees.
- Krum, TX will always be home, even when I don't live there.
- Everyone needs to live away from home for at least 6 months.
- There are some strange people out there.
- 8 hours a sleep per night is for old people.
- Teachers will tell you about "Sneaky F**kers" and tell you that we are in hell.
- There is no such thing as "having too much fun"
- Sorostitutes are a dime a dozen. Tights and fishing shirts are not a wardrobe for me.
- College isn't as hard as everyone made it out to be, it is simply time management.
- 5,000 words really isn't as terrible to write as everyone makes it out to be, but it still sucks.
- Regardless how many times a phone back disappears, it will show back up!
- Free anything is a gift from above.
- The later it is, things begin to taste better.
- Football is awesome!
- There are some truly awesome people out in the world.
- People are people, everyone makes mistakes.
- Shampoo can last a long time if you start filling it up with water when it is only half-way full.
- Do not under any circumstances try to remove permanent marker from your skin with a callus stone.
- Target t-shirts are amazing when laundry is not the top priority.
- Don't trust Tanner Adams with your credit card, it will be cracked. :)
- My laptop is my life!!
- Family is the glue that holds you together.
This past year has been more than amazing. For being so worried, everything has gone great! I have managed to have the time of my life as well as maintain a very good GPA. I have met some amazing people and I can't wait for the next how many ever years I will spend here at the oh so amazing Texas Tech.
